If you enjoy historical sewing and YouTube, you are most likely familiar with a creator named Bernadette Banner. Banner is a historical sewist who creates content surrounding the methods that seamstress and tailors have been executing over the past 200 years. She is particularly versed in historical hand sewing methods and regularly creates beautiful historically inspired garments. She has been a huge inspiration in creating this blog and beginning my own sewing journey.

One of the topics that inevitable comes up is what to do with scraps. Cabbage is a term to describe this left over material, the word dates back to the 17th century and could be interchanged with "garbage". Turns out 21st century peoples aren't the only ones who want to use their scraps.
